RELAY for Windows 0.2.5 Public Release

The first public native RELAY application for Windows 10 and Windows 11.

RELAY for Windows 0.2.5 is the first public native streaming app from PARALLAX. Download the official Windows installer from streamparallax.com, install the branded RELAY setup, and watch movies, series and Live TV with local MPV playback and verified in-app updates.

11 September 2026. Version 0.2.5 is the public stable build served from the official RELAY for Windows download. New users get this installer from streamparallax.com/windows. Existing installs on the stable channel can move to 0.2.5 from Settings.

Download the official RELAY Windows installer

Use only PARALLAX URLs. The public installer is streamparallax.com/downloads/relay-windows. That address always serves the current stable package. Today the file is RELAY-Windows-Setup-0.2.5.exe for 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11.

RELAY installs to C:\Program Files\PARALLAX\RELAY. The visible installer, updater and uninstaller use the RELAY mark. There is no separate Windows setup wizard. Windows SmartScreen may still appear while commercial Authenticode enrollment completes; confirm the file came from streamparallax.com before continuing.

Do not download RELAY from third-party mirrors. Update packages are checked against PARALLAX checksums and an Ed25519 release signature before they run.

What ships in RELAY 0.2.5

RELAY for Windows 0.2.5 is a native desktop application, not a browser tab. It combines Home catalogues, Movies, Series, Discover, Live TV, My Library, compatible RELAY and Stremio addons, playable-source checks and a local player.

Playback uses the local MPV engine, so video, hover controls, clicks, keyboard shortcuts and fullscreen stay on the Windows PC. The public package also ships the current RELAY identity across the app and setup flow, and it keeps playback-engine status in Settings under Playback rather than Updates.

Native playback, sources and addons

Open a title or episode, review Sources, then play. RELAY ranks playable torrent sources first and keeps torrent transfer on your computer. Direct HTTP streams are identified separately. The native player supports seeking, volume, fullscreen, subtitle loading, timing and audio-track selection when the selected source provides them.

Official catalogues are enabled by default. You can install compatible RELAY or Stremio addon manifests for extra catalogue rows and source providers. Watchlist and library choices stay with your PARALLAX account.

RELAY does not host third-party torrent files. You remain responsible for choosing lawful sources where you live.

Verified in-app updates in 0.2.5

RELAY 0.2.5 checks the stable release channel as soon as the app launches, then again every minute while the window is in use. When a newer signed build is published, a banner appears so you can read notes, download the verified package and choose Install and restart. Updates replace the existing Program Files installation and relaunch RELAY. They do not create a second copy.

The banner does not interrupt an active presentation. After this public release, later versions announce themselves on launch.

RELAY Windows compared with RELAY Web

RELAY Web still uses RELAY Companion as a local engine for browser playback, so it remains subject to browser container and codec limits. RELAY for Windows is the integrated path: catalogues, addons, source checks and native playback live in one app, with no separate Companion process.

If you are looking for a native Windows streaming app rather than a browser player, 0.2.5 is the public RELAY build. Compare the two in the RELAY Windows product guide and the 0.2.5 documentation notes.

System requirements

RELAY for Windows 0.2.5 requires a 64-bit PC running Windows 10 or Windows 11. Microsoft Edge WebView2 is used for the app interface; the installer checks for it. Playback quality depends on the selected source, peers, container, codec, hardware decoding and your display.

How to update an earlier RELAY install

If RELAY is already installed, open Settings, choose Updates and select Check again. Builds before 0.2.5 checked less often, so use Check again if you want 0.2.5 immediately. After 0.2.5 is installed, later public versions appear on launch and about once a minute while RELAY is open.

Read the dated record on the PARALLAX changelog. Keep the Windows documentation nearby for install, addon, tray and playback detail.
