Information we collect

When you create an account, PARALLAX stores your email address, password hash, profile names and account preferences. If you use signed-in features, we may store library selections, viewing position and history so the experience can continue across profiles and products. We also retain limited security and operational records such as session identifiers, timestamps, device descriptions and IP addresses where necessary to prevent abuse and maintain the service.

How information is used and protected

Account data is used to authenticate you, isolate profiles, synchronize preferences and history, deliver requested emails and operate the service. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, session tokens are protected, and access to production systems is restricted. No internet service can promise absolute security, so we monitor risks and limit retained data to what the product needs.

Third parties

We use service providers for infrastructure, transactional email, catalogue metadata and other essential operations. They receive only the information required to perform those functions and must process it under their own security and privacy commitments. We may disclose information when required by valid law, to protect users or the service, or during a legitimate business reorganization. We do not sell personal information.

Companion stays local

PARALLAX Companion performs torrent networking, peer connections and supported media preparation on your computer through a secured loopback service. Torrent traffic does not pass through PARALLAX servers, and PARALLAX does not store your Companion torrent activity. Account actions and limited diagnostics you explicitly send may still reach the service.

Your choices and rights

You can update account preferences from your profile. You may request a copy of your account data or deletion of your account and associated personal information, subject to limited records we must retain for security, legal compliance or dispute resolution. Account deletion may include a short recovery period before final removal.
