Browser torrent streaming usually asks one piece of software to do two very different jobs. A browser is excellent at presenting a catalogue, managing an account and playing formats the web platform understands. It is not designed to run a complete torrent engine or decode every media container. RELAY separates those responsibilities deliberately.
RELAY Web is the visible part of the experience. It lets you browse titles, inspect available releases and compare useful source details before playback. When the service can determine them, those details include peer availability, estimated resolution, container or codec information and whether a release is likely to play in a browser. The interface stays connected to the same PARALLAX profiles, library and history used elsewhere in the ecosystem.
PARALLAX Companion is the local engine. It is a small Windows application that connects to RELAY through a secured loopback endpoint on the same computer. Companion handles peer connections, torrent transfer and media preparation locally. The release does not travel through PARALLAX servers on its way to the player. Once a supported source is ready, Companion exposes it to the RELAY browser player.
This architecture creates a practical form of browser torrent streaming without pretending browsers support every media format. MP4 and WebM releases with browser-compatible codecs are the safest choices. MKV, HEVC and advanced audio formats may not work in RELAY Web because browser support is inconsistent. RELAY communicates those limits before playback wherever possible instead of hiding them behind a generic failure.
Getting started takes three steps. First, open the RELAY Web overview and understand the format limits. Second, download PARALLAX Companion from the official site and complete the short Windows installation. Third, return to RELAY, allow the browser’s local-device permission when requested and select a verified release. Companion can then rank working sources using information available on your own machine.
RELAY for Windows is being developed for people who need a native engine with broader container, HDR and audio targets. It does not have an announced release date. Today, RELAY Web plus Companion is the available balance: a polished browser interface, local torrent handling and honest compatibility guidance in one connected PARALLAX experience.
